Darkfield Microscopy
Live Cell Microscopy and Oxidative Stress Testing
Live and Dry Blood Analysis, also known as Darkfield Microscopy, is a powerful non-invasive tool used for nutritional purposes. It provides an evaluation of your current health at the cellular level. Within 30 minutes both the client and practitioner can observe the oxygen carrying ability of your red blood cells, immune system status, liver/digestive function, free radical stress, pH imbalances, mineral deficiencies, heavy metal toxicity and more. This provides a better understanding of the internal state of your health and in determining your treatment protocol.
What can be seen in single drop of blood?
- The condition shape and health of your red and white blood cells
- Undigested proteins and fats
- Low levels of vitamin B12 and iron
- Low immune function
- Food intolerance
- Digestive health
- Inflammation
- Blood circulation and risk for clotting
- Yeast overgrowth and bacterial forms
- Parasites
- Heavy metals
- Hormonal imbalances
- Liver and gall bladder stress
- Acid / alkaline imbalance
Precursors to disease and disorder often show-up in the body as stress in the blood years before manifesting any symptoms in the body. Live and dry blood analysis can identify the potential for disease early on, making this an excellent preventative tool.
Day of Appointment
Fasting for 3 hours prior is required, arriving well hydrated by drinking only water during that time (no food, gum, candy etc.) There is no need to “hold it” and you may use the washroom.
You may take any prescription drugs as recommended by your primary healthcare practitioner.
What to Expect
The initial visit will be 75 minutes in length. Prior to your visit, you will complete a Client Intake Form, Diet Diary and Hormone Questionnaire (women only). Subsequent visits are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length.
Following an initial discussion of any health concerns a blood pressure, pulse and glucose check will be obtained. A blood sample is then be taken by a fingertip prick using a sterile lancet and is placed on two sterile slides. The samples are assessed using a high powered clinical microscope that is attached to a computer monitor allowing the client to view their blood picture as well.
You will receive recommendations to follow based on your health goals and the findings during your blood analysis. This will include what foods to be added to your diet, what foods are not working in your diet, and may include specific vitamins, minerals, or remedies to assist and support the body in the natural healing process.
What to Bring
- Completed forms – Client Intake Form, Diet Diary and Hormone Questionnaire for Women.
- Copy of your most recent laboratory blood test results, if available.
- Any vitamins, supplements, herbs or remedies you may be taking.

“Darkfield microscopy does not offer a specific organ diagnosis; instead its core evidence is concerned with stresses which cause illness and tendencies to disease, as found primarily in the circulatory system.” Dr. Thomas Rau M.D. – The Value of Darkfield Microscopy
