Why I Work at KTC
I was hired in 2015 as the front office administrator and receptionist here at Kawartha Therapeutic Centre and am proud to be a part of this amazing team.
The staff here at the clinic is a group of carefully selected professionals who are committed to the health and wellness of their clientele. Each one was chosen for their expertise in their chosen field as well as their compassion and dedication and I feel very fortunate to have found a place here on the team.
The office is located in a beautiful, newly renovated building located in the heart of Lindsay and it is a bright and welcoming space to work in. I am grateful to have found a job I love, within an easy commute to home.
I am a detail-oriented person who thrives in a challenging environment and the busy office of Kawartha Therapeutic offers the opportunity to use these skills. I have enjoyed meeting the patients who visit our office and really like living and working in the small town community.
About Me
I was born and grew up in Brampton back when it was still a small town much like Lindsay. From there, I moved to Ottawa for university and later, to Kitchener, where I lived until I moved to the City of Kawartha Lakes in 1997. In 1993, I married my high school sweetheart and best friend, Tom, and we have 2 children, Cole and Grace. I was lucky enough to have had the opportunity to take an extended leave of absence when they were born, and stayed at home with my children for the first few years of their lives. During that time, I volunteered at the school, our local library and the Daily Bread Food Bank with both fundraising and their holiday food drive. As a parent, I enjoyed my time as chauffeur, and lead cheerleader at hockey games, gymnastic competitions, soccer games, horse shows and talent shows. I wouldn’t trade those days for anything and am still, to this day, my children’s biggest fan.
I have been scuba diving off the coast of Cancun, swimming with the dolphins in Bermuda and whale watching in Vancouver. I have been horseback riding in the Rockies, seen the Northern Lights and have travelled extensively throughout North America and I can say one of the most beautiful places I have ever been is here in the Kawarthas. My family and I take advantage of all that the area has to offer and enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, and biking.
I am an avid reader, love to cook and find baking very therapeutic. I am also a cancer survivor and since then, strive to always “live life without regret”. This means that I try to always be compassionate of others, have the courage to try new things and spend as much time with family and friends as possible. I believe that the secret to health and wellness is having a good work/life balance. This is why I am so glad to have found a place here at Kawartha Therapeutic Centre as part of their clinical family.
