Why I Work at KTC

A short while after I graduated from college, Dr. Carney was looking to add the services of a Registered Massage Therapist to Kawartha Therapeutic Centre. The excellent reputation of the office was what initially excited me about the opportunity to work here, and the job position allowed me to stay in my hometown. It soon became apparent, however, that Kawartha Therapeutic Centre has more to offer than just that.
The staff at KTC put importance on giving clients a great first and lasting impression. Our office is bright, modern, and inviting to walk into. It's a friendly environment and we are "down to earth" – a feeling that is quickly noticed by our clients and shared amongst staff alike. Though we are client focused throughout the workday, a few minutes of casual conversation at lunch break or after work, keep the staff in touch with each other on a friendly basis.
Part of what makes KTC successful is the fact that the staff genuinely care. When you work with people who are understanding and feel positively about working together as a team, everything in the workplace flows smoothly.
Our team represents a wide variety of services that we offer at KTC. The multidisciplinary aspect is something that I love having available for my clients. It allows people to use different therapies as their needs or health goals change - all at one convenient location.
All in all, Kawartha Therapeutic Centre has turned out to be a solid foundation on which to build my practice, while continually growing and expanding to welcome new practitioners and clientele. It will be exciting to see how it evolves in the future!
I am grateful and blessed to enjoy my work as a Registered Massage Therapist and be able to help people de-stress, heal from injuries, and be proactive about their health. I grew up in Lindsay, and it has been a pleasure to meet so many people from the Kawartha Lakes area and be a part of their wellness goals.
I knew that my career of choice would be “hands on”, but I didn't always know just how literal that would turn out to be. The experience of having massage therapy treatments for myself, combined with my interest in physical fitness and anatomy, led me to the decision to go into the field of Massage Therapy. After 3 years of study, I graduated with honours from the massage therapy program at Sir Sandford Fleming College. I am a member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO) and as a Registered Massage Therapist, I hold a certificate of registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
I am experienced in working with a wide variety of clientele and people trust me to be professional and effective with treating their condition. My easy going personality and calm nature lends itself well to making people feel comfortable and relaxed.
I am sincere in wanting to make your massage therapy session an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. When people come to see me, they have a goal of feeling better. My mission is to get people to that goal. I am interested in your desired outcome for treatment and your expectations. This is how I provide quality care. I listen to your specific needs, and combine that with my expertise to get you results.
My clients share their positive outcomes from their massage treatments with family, friends, and co-workers and encourage them to experience for themselves the benefits to their health and well-being that massage therapy can provide. Their recommendation to others to book an appointment with me has been one of the greatest compliments I’ve received.
After work and on weekends I enjoy fitness activities, gardening, thrift shopping, spending time with family/friends and pursuing my photography skills.
I enjoy tea, smoothies, juicing, and healthy eating.
Once a month I take an afternoon off…to get a massage!
